Glen Lyn is a small community in Giles County, Virginia, in the United States. It's located where the East River and the New River meet.
Glen Lyn used to be an official town, starting in 1926. But in December 2024, the people living there voted to change it. Now, it's an unincorporated community within Giles County. This means it's still a community, but it doesn't have its own separate town government anymore.
In 2010, about 115 people lived in Glen Lyn. It is part of a larger area called the Blacksburg–Christiansburg Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Glen Lyn is found in the northwestern part of Giles County. It sits on both sides of the New River. To its west, you'll find the East River and the state of West Virginia.
Travel and Nearby Places
U.S. Route 460 is a main road that goes through Glen Lyn. If you travel east on this road, you'll reach Rich Creek in about 3 miles. Going west for about 15 miles will take you to Princeton, West Virginia.
Pearisburg, which is the main town for Giles County, is about 12 miles southeast along US 460. Blacksburg is a bit further, about 34 miles southeast.
