Glenn John McQueen (born December 24, 1960 – died October 29, 2002) was a talented Canadian animator. He was a supervising character animator at two big animation studios: Pixar and Pacific Data Images. He helped bring many beloved characters to life on screen.

Glenn McQueen's Early Life and Career
Glenn McQueen finished his studies at Sheridan College in 1985. After that, he received a special scholarship. This allowed him to work at the New York Institute of Technology Computer Graphics Lab. There, he led the 3D production team. They created cool film effects, TV commercials, and scientific visuals.
In 1994, Glenn decided to join Pixar. He was really interested in their movie Toy Story. He also greatly respected John Lasseter, a co-founder of Pixar. At Pixar, Glenn helped supervise the animation for many early hit movies. These included Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, and Monsters, Inc.
Glenn was also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This is the famous group in Hollywood that gives out the Oscar awards. Glenn and his wife, Terry, had a daughter.
Glenn McQueen's Legacy and Impact
Glenn McQueen is remembered as one of the best animators in his field. People all over the world admire his amazing work. John Lasseter, a co-founder of Pixar, spoke highly of him. He called Glenn "a great animator, a great friend and a fantastic family man." Lasseter also said Glenn was "the heart and soul of our animation department." He added, "Glenn is not gone from us. He’s still alive in all of us."
Honoring Glenn McQueen: Pixar Canada
In 2009, Pixar opened a new animation studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. They named it the Glenn McQueen Pixar Animation Center. This was done to honor Glenn and his contributions. The studio was planned to be about 20,000 square feet. It was located in downtown Vancouver.
This new studio focused on making short films and TV episodes. These shorts featured popular Pixar characters. The studio started hiring people in 2009 and opened in the spring of 2010. It produced several shorts, like Small Fry (2011) and Partysaurus Rex (2012). However, in October 2013, the studio closed down. Pixar decided to focus all its efforts back at its main headquarters.
