Glossodia is a small town in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It's located about 68 kilometres north-west of the Sydney CBD. Glossodia is part of the City of Hawkesbury, which is a local government area.

Glossodia wasn't always called Glossodia! A long time ago, it was known as "Currency Creek." The name was officially changed in 1922. The new name, Glossodia, comes from a special type of small, usually purple orchids that grow in the area. It's like the town was named after a beautiful flower!
