Goodson is a small community located in Polk County, Missouri, in the United States. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own official town government or city limits like a big city would.
Goodson is found where two roads, Missouri Supplemental Route C and Route P, meet. It is about 16 miles northeast of a town called Bolivar. Goodson is also part of the larger Springfield metropolitan area, which includes Springfield and nearby communities.
History of Goodson
Goodson was first started around the year 1870. The community was named after an early resident of the area, Sam Goodson.
For many years, Goodson had its own post office. This post office served the community from 1874 until 1991.
