History of Goodwin
Goodwin was officially planned and marked out in 1878. This happened when a railroad line was built through the area. The town was named after George P. Goodwin, who was an important person involved with the railroad.
A post office has been open in Goodwin since 1878. It has been helping people send and receive mail for a very long time. It is still working today.
On May 30, 2022, a strong tornado hit the town. It caused a lot of damage to many homes and businesses. The tornado was rated as an EF3, which means it was quite powerful.
