History of Goose Lake
Goose Lake was officially planned and marked out in 1889. It became an official city in 1908. The city gets its name from a nearby lake, also called Goose Lake.
Geography and Location
Goose Lake is located in eastern Iowa. Its exact position is 41°58′3″N 90°22′51″W / 41.96750°N 90.38083°W. This means it's about 41 degrees north of the equator and 90 degrees west of the prime meridian.
The city covers a total area of about 0.32 square miles (0.86 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no major bodies of water within the city limits.
