Gordon Corson Clark was born on May 31, 1952, in Glasgow, Scotland. He grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Gordon is a retired ice hockey player who played as a right winger.
He played 8 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Boston Bruins. He also played 21 games in the WHA for the Cincinnati Stingers. This was between 1974 and 1979. After his playing days, he became an assistant coach for the Boston Bruins in the early 1990s. Today, he works as a scout for the Montreal Canadiens. Gordon also won a major championship, the Calder Cup, with the American Hockey League (AHL) team, the Maine Mariners.

Gordon Clark's Hockey Career
Gordon Clark was chosen by the Boston Bruins in the 1972 NHL draft. Before joining the Bruins, he played three seasons at the University of New Hampshire. He mostly played for the Bruins' minor league team, the Rochester Americans, in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Playing for the Rochester Americans
Gordon scored 123 goals over four seasons with the Rochester Americans. He was even the team captain in the 1977-78 season. He played in eight regular-season games and one playoff game for the main Boston Bruins team.
Winning the Calder Cup
In the 1978-79 season, Gordon played for two AHL teams: the Springfield Indians and the Maine Mariners. He helped the Maine Mariners win the 1979 Calder Cup championship. This is a big award for AHL teams.
Gordon was a top player in the AHL. He led the league with 47 goals in the 1979–80 season. He had his best year in 1981–82, scoring 50 goals and getting 101 points. During his career, he was named an AHL All-Star twice for the First Team and twice for the Second Team.
Coaching and Scouting Roles
Gordon Clark stopped playing hockey in 1983. He then joined the Maine Mariners as an assistant coach in 1987–88. He worked with head coach Mike Milbury there.
Coaching the Boston Bruins
In 1989, Gordon was promoted to assistant coach for the Boston Bruins. He spent three seasons with the team. During this time, the Bruins even made it to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1990.
Working as a Scout
In 1992, Gordon joined the Bruins' scouting department. A scout's job is to find new talented players for the team. He worked for the New York Islanders from 1996 to 2002. There, he held important roles like director of player personnel and assistant general manager.
Later, he spent 20 seasons with the New York Rangers. From 2007 to 2020, he was their director of player personnel. In 2022, Gordon Clark joined the Montreal Canadiens as a professional scout.
