Gordon Corson Clark, born on May 31, 1952, in Glasgow, Scotland, and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick, is a retired ice hockey player. He was a right winger. Clark played a few games in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Boston Bruins. He also played in the World Hockey Association (WHA) for the Cincinnati Stingers between 1974 and 1979. After his playing days, he became an assistant coach for the Boston Bruins. He is currently a scout for the Montreal Canadiens. He also won a major championship called the Calder Cup with the American Hockey League (AHL) team, the Maine Mariners.

Gordon Clark's Hockey Journey
Playing as a Pro
Gordon Clark was chosen by the Boston Bruins in the 1972 NHL draft. Before joining the Bruins, he played college hockey for three seasons at the University of New Hampshire. He mostly played for the Rochester Americans, which was the Bruins' team in the American Hockey League (AHL). He scored 123 goals over four seasons with them. He was even the team captain in the 1977-78 season. Clark played eight regular-season games and one playoff game for the Boston Bruins in the NHL.
In the 1978-79 season, Clark played for the Springfield Indians in the AHL and the Cincinnati Stingers in the WHA. He then joined the Maine Mariners in the AHL. He helped the Mariners win the 1979 Calder Cup championship. This is a big award for AHL teams. In the 1979–80 season, he led the AHL with 47 goals. He had his best season in 1981–82, scoring 50 goals and getting 101 points. Clark was chosen as a First Team AHL All-Star twice and a Second Team AHL All-Star twice during his career.
Coaching and Scouting Roles
Gordon Clark stopped playing hockey in 1983. He then became an assistant coach for the Maine Mariners in the 1987–88 season. He worked with head coach Mike Milbury. In 1989, he was promoted to assistant coach for the Boston Bruins. He spent three seasons with the Bruins, and the team even made it to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1990.
In 1992, Clark joined the Bruins' scouting team. Scouting means finding new talented players. From 1996 to 2002, he worked for the New York Islanders. He held important jobs like director of player personnel and assistant general manager. After that, he spent 20 seasons with the New York Rangers. From 2007 to 2020, he was their director of player personnel. In 2022, Gordon Clark joined the Montreal Canadiens as a pro scout.

Gordon Clark received several awards during his hockey career:
