Famous People from Gorst

The Tree Octopus Hoax

Gorst has also been linked to a funny internet story called the Tree Octopus Hoax. This was a made-up story that started online in 1998. It pretended that there was a rare type of octopus that lived in trees in the Pacific Northwest! It was a joke to show how easily false information can spread online.
