Grand Canyon West is a special area in Mohave County, Arizona, in the United States. It's located on the land of the Hualapai people. Even though it's a place where people visit, the official count in 2020 showed no permanent residents.
This area is important because it's where the Hualapai tribe runs their businesses related to the Grand Canyon. It includes the Grand Canyon West Airport and the famous Grand Canyon Skywalk. These attractions are usually open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day, even on holidays.

Exploring Grand Canyon West
Grand Canyon West is found in the northern part of Mohave County. It sits on the western edge of the amazing Grand Canyon. This spot is about 4,700 to 4,800 feet (1,430 to 1,460 meters) above sea level.
The area stretches east right into the canyon, all the way to the Colorado River. Down by the river, the elevation drops to about 1,200 feet (370 meters). You can reach Grand Canyon West by taking Diamond Bar Road. This road goes southwest for about 20 miles (32 kilometers) to County Highway 25, near a town called Meadview.
Size of the Area
According to the United States Census Bureau, Grand Canyon West covers a total area of about 17.6 square miles (45.6 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 17.19 square miles (44.52 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 0.41 square miles (1.07 square kilometers), is water.
Who Lives in Grand Canyon West?
Even though Grand Canyon West is a popular tourist spot, very few people live there permanently. In the 2010 census, only two people were counted as living in the area. Both of them were adult males. By the 2020 census, the population was reported as zero.
Past Population Details
In 2010, the two people living there were both over 50 years old. One was between 50 and 64, and the other was 65 or older. The average age was 70.5 years. Both residents were identified as White. There were two households, and both were single men living alone.
There were 19 housing units in the area. Only two of these were lived in, while the other 17 were empty.

Most of the Grand Canyon West area is part of the Hackberry School District. A smaller part of the area belongs to the Kingman Unified School District. These districts help provide education for any children who might live in or near the area.
