Grand Island is a cool island located in Northern California. It lies between a waterway called Sycamore Slough and the big Sacramento River. For many years, it was also known as Taylor Island or La Isla de los Quenensias.

Grand Island has a bit of history! It even had its own post office a long time ago. This post office served the island from 1854 until 1919. Early maps from the 1850s showed the island. Explorers like Cadwalader Ringgold and Henry Lange created these maps. On their maps, Grand Island was labeled as "Taylor Island."
