Grangeville is a small community in Kings County, California, United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is a place that the government counts for population, but it is not officially a city or town.
Grangeville is part of the larger Hanford–Corcoran area. In 2010, about 469 people lived there. The community is located about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) west-northwest of Hanford. It sits at an elevation of 249 feet (76 meters) above sea level.
A post office served Grangeville from 1874 until 1920.
History of Grangeville
Grangeville was started in 1874 by two men, James A. Hackett and Peter Kanawyer. It is the oldest community that still exists in Kings County.
However, a big change happened in 1876. The Southern Pacific Railroad built its tracks in a different direction. It did not go through Grangeville. Because of this, the community became less important and its size decreased.

The 2010 United States Census counted 469 people living in Grangeville. All of these people lived in homes. No one lived in group homes or institutions.
