Granite Basin Lake is a man-made lake, also called a reservoir. You can find it near Prescott in Yavapai County, Arizona. It's located inside the beautiful Prescott National Forest. The lake is right next to the Granite Mountain Wilderness Area.
Building the Lake
The dam that created Granite Basin Lake was built a long time ago. Work started in 1937. It was built by a group called the Civilian Conservation Corps. This group helped people find jobs during a tough time in history. The dam was finished in 1939.
