Great White Throne Judgment facts for kids
In Christianity, the Great White Throne Judgment is a future event. It's when people who have died and were not part of a special group judged earlier will stand before God. They will be judged based on what they did during their lives. This judgment uses the 66 books of the Bible as a guide. It is for those whose names are not written in the Book of Life. The Book of Life is where the names of people who will go to heaven are recorded. After this judgment, Death, Hades (which means the place of the dead), and anyone not in the Book of Life will be sent to the Lake of Fire.

What is the Great White Throne Judgment?
The Great White Throne Judgment is a very important event described in the Bible. It is a time when God will judge all people who did not live during the 1,000 years when Satan was held in a special pit. Everyone will stand before God's throne. Their actions, both good and bad, will be reviewed. This judgment is different from others mentioned in the Bible. It focuses on those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Where is it in the Bible?
The main part of the Bible that talks about the Great White Throne Judgment is in the book of Revelation. This book is the last one in the New Testament. Here is what Revelation 20:11-15 says about it:
11 Then I saw a Great White Throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and the heavens fled away from His presence, and there was no place found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before the throne, and the books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the Book of Life, and the dead were judged according to their works, which are the things recorded inside the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead which were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them: and they were each judged according to their works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the Lake of Fire, which is the second death. 15 Anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.
This passage explains that everyone, no matter how important they were, will stand before God. Books will be opened, showing what people did. The Book of Life will also be opened. Those whose names are not in it will face a final consequence.
How to avoid this judgment
The Bible teaches that there is a way to avoid the Great White Throne Judgment. This way is to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. The Bible says that God sent Jesus to save the world, not to condemn it. If someone believes in Jesus, they will not be judged in this way. Here is what John 3:17-18 says about this:
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
This means that believing in Jesus offers a path to salvation. It helps people avoid being judged at the Great White Throne.
