Green Bank is a small community in New Jersey, United States. It's not a separate town but part of Washington Township. You can find it in Burlington County, right next to the Mullica River.

In the 1800s, Green Bank was very important for the local economy. It had one of the main sawmills in the area. Lumber from the township was sent from here down the Mullica River to the Atlantic Ocean. Later, building ships became a big industry. Many ships were built in Green Bank during the late 1800s.

Learning in Green Bank: Schools and Education

Kids in Green Bank used to go to a school right in their community. This school was built in 1919. It's now listed on the state's Register of Historic Places. Today, this old school building is used as Washington Township's town hall.

New School Buildings and Changes

A new, larger school building was built next door in 2006. However, there weren't many students attending the new school. Because of this, the new school closed in the fall of 2010.

Now, elementary and middle school students from Green Bank go to schools in Mullica Township. This arrangement started with an agreement between the two townships. For high school, students attend Cedar Creek High School. This high school is located in Egg Harbor City.
