Greenbank is a small community located on Whidbey Island in Island County, Washington, United States. It's called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's managed by the county.
Greenbank was named by Calvin Philips, who came from Delaware. He named it after his home there. About 1,626 people live in Greenbank. It is famous for the Greenbank Farm and the Greenbank Store.

Greenbank Farm: A Historic Place
Greenbank Farm was once the biggest loganberry farm in the world! Loganberries are a type of berry, like a mix between a raspberry and a blackberry. Today, the farm is no longer growing loganberries. Instead, it has many trails for walking and a special area where dogs can run freely.
Saving the Farm
The Greenbank Farm was almost turned into buildings and houses. But in 1997, the Port of Coupeville stepped in to save it. They bought the 151-acre property. The final payment for the farm was made in 2017. The Port of Coupeville still manages the farm today.
What You Can Do at the Farm
The farm has a large, old barn called the "Whidbey 1904 Barn." This barn is a popular spot for:

- Seasonal markets, like farmers' markets

Nature at Greenbank Farm

The farm also uses solar power to help the environment. They even offer free charging stations for electric cars!
Greenbank Store
The Greenbank Store first opened in 1904. It used to be owned by the Coupe family, who were related to Captain Thomas Coupe. He was the person who started the nearby town of Coupeville. Now, the store has new owners. It's a handy place where you can find a post office and a small grocery store.

Greenbank is located along State Route 525. This main road connects Greenbank to other places on Whidbey Island. You can find several places to stay and other businesses along this route.
