Grigore D. Constantinescu (born February 15, 1875, in Iaşi – died April 7, 1932, in Năpădeni) was an important person from Romania. He was a priest, a teacher, and a journalist. He also led a newspaper called Glasul Basarabiei.

A Life of Learning and Service

Grigore D. Constantinescu was born on February 15, 1875. His father was also a priest in Iaşi, Romania. Grigore started his studies in Iaşi, where he learned from 1888 to 1896.

After that, he continued his education in Kiev from 1897 to 1902. This shows he was very dedicated to learning!

Working as a Teacher and Priest

From 1904 to 1906, Grigore worked for the Romanian Consulate in Odessa. This was like working for the Romanian government in another country.

Later, he became a professor of the Romanian language. He taught at the Chişinău Theological Seminary and a girls' school in Chişinău. He worked there from 1906 to 1918, helping many students learn.

In 1918, he became a priest in Chişinău. He served there until 1919. After that, he moved to Năpădeni and continued his work as a priest from 1919 until he passed away in 1932.

His Work as a Journalist

Besides being a priest and teacher, Grigore D. Constantinescu was also a journalist. He wrote for a newspaper called Basarabia.

Starting in 1908, he became the Editorial Secretary for another newspaper, Luminătorul. This meant he helped manage what was published.

He also started his own newspaper! He was the founder and director of Glasul Basarabiei from 1913 to 1914. This shows he was a leader in sharing news and ideas.

Grigore D. Constantinescu had a large family. He was a father to ten children.
