The Gros Ventre Range (pronounced "groh VAHNT") is a mountain range in Wyoming, USA. It's part of the larger Rocky Mountains. This range is found west of the Continental Divide, which is like an imaginary line across North America. Rivers on one side flow to the Pacific Ocean, and rivers on the other side flow to the Atlantic.
The tallest mountain here is Doubletop Peak, reaching 11,720 feet (3,572 meters) high. Most of the Gros Ventre Range is located within the Gros Ventre Wilderness. This is a special protected area inside the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
To the northwest of the range, you'll find a famous valley called Jackson Hole. The Snow King ski resort is also in this range, right next to the town of Jackson, Wyoming. The Gros Ventre Range is also known for the Gros Ventre landslide. This huge landslide happened in 1925 on the north side of Sheep Mountain.
