Grotto is a small community located in King County, Washington, United States. It is an "unincorporated community," which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it is governed by the county.
Grotto is found along U.S. Route 2. This road is west of Stevens Pass in the beautiful Cascade Mountains. The community is also close to the town of Skykomish. People often visit Grotto for its amazing mountain views and natural beauty.
History of Grotto
The community of Grotto got its name from the deep, cave-like valleys nearby. These valleys are often called "gorges" or "grottos." A post office was opened in Grotto in 1910. This helped the small community connect with other places.
