Grundy Center is a city in Grundy County, Iowa, United States. The population was 2,706 at the 2010 census a 4.2% increase from 2,596 at the 2000 census. Grundy Center is also the county seat of Grundy County. Grundy Center is part of the Waterloo–Cedar Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Grundy Center, more commonly known by residents as just Grundy, is home to 3 schools(Preschool, Elementary and Middle-High School). It has 3 public parks, The Bel Pre(The Purple Park), Orion(The Yellow Park), and The Liberty Park(The Pool Park). There is also a swimming pool with 3 water slides. The Herbert Quick School House is another cool thing in Grundy Center. The Courthouse Lawn is the heart of Grundy Center, it is home to many events and performances like the Felix Grundy Day events, Farmers market and more.
Grundy Center was incorporated on April 17, 1877, and was named for the county, which was named for Felix Grundy, congressman and senator from Tennessee.

As of the census of 2010, there were 2,706 people, 1,162 households, and 739 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,069.6 inhabitants per square mile (413.0/km2). There were 1,256 housing units at an average density of 496.4 per square mile (191.7/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 98.6% White, 0.2% African American, 0.1% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, and 1.0% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.4% of the population.
There were 1,162 households of which 29.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.8% were married couples living together, 8.8% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.0% had a male householder with no wife present, and 36.4% were non-families. 32.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.26 and the average family size was 2.86.
The median age in the city was 42.9 years. 22.9% of residents were under the age of 18; 6% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 23.1% were from 25 to 44; 25.3% were from 45 to 64; and 22.7% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 46.3% male and 53.7% female.

The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.83.
