Heroic Actions
Jeremy Hernandez, who lived near Grygla in Gatzke, was honored in 2007. He helped rescue many children from a school bus. The bus was trapped when the I-35W Bridge collapsed in Minneapolis. Jeremy and three others were with the bus when this happened on August 1, 2007.
Speech Competition Winner
Sherry “Pebs” Dalager (who was born Peterson) went to Grygla High School. She graduated in 1982. That same year, she won First Place in Storytelling at the Minnesota State Speech Competition. This was a big achievement for her and the school.
Transportation in Grygla
Grygla has its own airport. The Grygla Municipal Airport is owned and operated by the city. It first opened in 2002, helping people travel to and from Grygla.
