Gunn is a small community in Alberta, Canada. It is called a hamlet, which is a type of small village. Gunn is located in Lac Ste. Anne County, west of where Highway 43 and Highway 33 meet. You can find it on the northeast shore of Lac Ste. Anne.

Gunn is about 58 kilometers (36 miles) northwest of Edmonton, a major city in Alberta. It sits at an elevation of 740 meters (2,428 feet) above sea level. The community is part of what's called Census Division No. 13 and is in the federal voting area of Yellowhead.

History of Gunn

The community of Gunn was named after a person named Peter Gunn. He was an important person for the Hudson's Bay Company in the Lac Ste. Anne area. Peter Gunn was also the very first Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for that region. An MLA is like a representative who helps make laws for the province.

The first post office in Gunn was opened in 1915. This meant people living there could send and receive mail more easily.
