Häfelfingen was first mentioned in old records way back in 1358. Back then, it was called Hevelingen. This shows that the area has been settled for a very long time!

The municipality is nestled in a side valley, which is a smaller valley branching off a main one. It includes the main village of Häfelfingen and also has eleven smaller groups of houses spread out.
