Early Life and Start of Career
Hồ Ngọc Hà was born in Huế City, Vietnam. Later, her family moved to Quảng Bình Province. When she was 12, she went to the Military Art and Culture College. She studied piano there and lived in a dormitory.
By age 15, Hà was already very tall (1.73 meters). She decided to try modeling. She won several awards, like runner-up in Ha Noi Supermodel. She also won first prize in Vietnam Supermodel. In 2003, she moved to Ho Chi Minh City. There, she first sang on a show called Người Đẹp Hát. A songwriter named Quoc Bao noticed her talent. He invited her to sing a song for his album. This made her decide to become a singer.
Her first big step in music was with the album 24 Giờ 7 Ngày (24 Hours 7 Days). The title song became a hit. Even though she was also a model, she worked hard to prove herself in music.
First Steps in Acting (2001)
In 2001, director Luu Trong Ninh chose Hà for a TV show. It was called Hoa Cỏ May. She played a strong American-Vietnamese girl named Huong. The show was popular on VTV3. Even though she didn't act for long, people remembered her performance.
In 2005, she acted in two more movies. These were 39 Độ Yêu (39 Degree of Love) and Chiến Dịch Trái Tim Bên Phải (Right Heart Campaign). After these, she decided to focus mainly on her singing career.
First Album: 24 Hours 7 Days (2004)
Hà went to Hanoi to work on her first album. She met musician Huy Tuan, who became her producer. Her debut album, 24 Giờ 7 Ngày, came out in 2004. It featured songs by famous writers like Duc Tri and Huy Tuan. The title song was a big success. It was played on many music shows.
Và Em Đã Yêu and More Acting (2005)
After her first album, Hà signed with Duc Tri's Music Faces Records. They worked together on her second album. It was called Và Em Đã Yêu (And I'm In Love). This album came out in June 2005. It showed off Hà's strong image. Two songs, Đêm Nghe Tiếng Mưa (Listening to Night Rain) and Và Em Đã Yêu, became very popular. They helped her become even more well-known.
After this album, she returned to acting for a short time. She was in a TV version of 39 Độ Yêu. She also joined the movie Chiến Dịch Trái Tim Bên Phải. This movie received many good reviews. After this, she stopped acting to focus on music.
New Albums: Muốn Nói Với Anh and Ảo Ảnh (2006)
In 2006, Hà released her third album, Muốn Nói Với Anh (I Wanna Tell You). It came out in Vietnam and later on iTunes in the US. Huy Tuan and Duc Tri helped write the songs. Hà also wrote the main song herself. This album had three hit songs.
Around the same time, Hà and singer Duc Tuan released a special album. It was called Ảo Ảnh (Illusion). This album featured classic Vietnamese songs.
Music and Tours (2007-2009)
In 2007, Hà released another album, Khi Ta Yêu Nhau (When We're In Love). However, it wasn't promoted much and didn't have any big hits.
In 2009, Hà returned to the stage with her album The First Single. This time, younger musicians worked on the album. Many copies were sold, and it got great reviews. The song Xin Hãy Thứ Tha (My Apology) with rapper Suboi became one of her best songs. She sang the English version of this song at the Asia Song Festival in Korea. Many Korean fans were impressed by her performance.
At this time, she also became a brand ambassador for Sunsilk Vietnam. To promote Sunsilk and her album, she went on the Và Em Đã Yêu Tour across Vietnam. Fans could get tickets by exchanging Sunsilk shampoo containers. Many other famous artists joined her on this tour.
New Beginnings (2010-2011)
In 2010, Hà released her new album, Tìm Lại Giấc Mơ (Finding Dreams). She recorded it while she was pregnant. This album was different because Duc Tri was not involved in its production. It was also her last album released by Music Faces Records.
To promote the album, she worked with Sunsilk again. They held small shows for Tìm Lại Giấc Mơ. In August 2010, Hà also partnered with the V-Music band. They released a duet album called Ngày Hạnh Phúc (Happy Day).
Invincible and Big Concert (2011)
In mid-2011, Hà released two new singles. These were Sao Ta Lặng Im (Why We Keep Silence) and Nỗi Nhớ Đầy Vơi (Nonstop Missing). Both songs did very well on music charts. Later, she released Một Lần Cuối Thôi (Last Time). This was the first song from her sixth album, Invincible - Sẽ Mãi Bên Nhau (Forever Together). This album was a team effort with Duong Khac Linh and Thanh Bui. The main song, Invincible, had a music video filmed in Hollywood. It was her most expensive music video ever.
On December 15, 2011, Hà held her biggest live concert. It was at Lan Anh Club in Ho Chi Minh City. The show cost a lot of money to produce. She performed 25 songs and impressed the audience with her amazing show.
TV Judge and New Music (2012)
In 2012, Hồ Ngọc Hà and V.Music band released a new project called I Love You. It had 8 songs about love.
Vietnam was one of the first countries to have The Voice TV show after Korea. Hà became one of the judges, along with Dam Vinh Hung, Thu Minh, and Tran Lap. She worked hard for this role. She even had a small surgery on her vocal cords. In 2012, she won the Favorite Female Singer award at the HTV Awards. She also judged Centaur Dance Showdown, an international dance competition.
In September 2012, while judging The Voice Vietnam, she released a new single. It was called Đắn Đo (Wondering). It included two songs and an English version of another song. Hà said she wanted to show simplicity and depth with this single. She wanted her music to help people discover new things about themselves.
Got To Dance Judge and International Performances (2013)
In 2013, Hồ Ngọc Hà was a judge on Got To Dance. She judged alongside famous dancers like Alfredo Torres and Dumbo. She also became the face of Samsung and other brands.
On August 5, 2013, she performed at the Asian Music Stars Show in China. She sang two songs, Runaway and Hãy Thứ Tha Cho Em (Please Forgive Me). On August 12, 2013, she released Hãy Thứ Tha Cho Em and Giấu Anh Vào Nỗi Nhớ (Keep You In My Thought). These songs had different music styles. She made three music videos for Hãy Thứ Tha Cho Em. This was very rare in Vietnam's music industry. She won "Single of the Year" for Hãy Thứ Tha Cho Em at the 16th Green Waves Award.
X Factor and Big Concert (2014)
On May 12, 2014, Hà released the album Mối Tình Xưa (Old Love). It had a classic feel, like songs from 10 years ago. She said the 11 songs told a story about her 10 years in music and life.
She also became a judge on the first season of X Factor in Vietnam. Even though the show's ratings were not great, she was a favorite judge. She helped Giang Hong Ngoc win the top prize. She also released the music video for her song My Baby.
On November 20, 2014, she held her Live Concert at Gem Center in Saigon. She performed a musical play. Eight of her hit songs were linked together to tell an emotional story. Famous dancers and choreographers worked with her. This concert was a big moment for her 10-year singing career.
Love Songs and The Face Vietnam (2015-2016)
In 2015, Hà made a small appearance in the movie Hy Sinh Đời Trai. This was her first acting role in a long time.
In April 2016, she became a coach on The Face Vietnam. She was one of three coaches, along with Pham Huong and Lan Khue. Her team member, Phi Phuong Anh, won the first season.
After releasing songs like Destiny and What Is Love?, she held her Love Songs concert in Ho Chi Minh City in May 2016. Later, she took the Love Songs concert to other cities in Vietnam, America, Australia, and Europe.

In 2009, she released a booklet called Những Khoảnh Khắc Của Hồ Ngọc Hà (Ho Ngoc Ha's Moments). All the money from selling these booklets went to charity. She and her fan club also donated money from the sales.
In early 2011, she joined other singers for a show called Tổ Ấm Ngày Xuân. At this show, she gave out presents and lucky money to orphans and children in need.
