Early Life and Career Beginnings
Hồ Ngọc Hà was born in Huế City, Vietnam. She later moved to Quảng Bình Province with her family. She has some French family background from her father's side. Her parents worked in banking.
When she was 12, she went to the Military Art and Culture College. She studied piano there and lived in a dormitory. By age 15, she was 1.73 meters tall. She decided to try modeling. She won several awards, including runner-up in the Ha Noi Supermodel contest. She also won first prize in Vietnam Supermodel.
In 2003, she moved to Ho Chi Minh City. She first sang on a TV show called Người Đẹp Hát. A songwriter named Quoc Bao then asked her to sing on his album. Because of this positive feedback, she decided to become a singer.
First Steps in Acting
In 2001, director Luu Trong Ninh chose her for the TV show Hoa Cỏ May. This show was on VTV3. She played Huong, a strong American-Vietnamese girl. Even though she was studying piano, she took on this acting role. Her acting career was short, but people remembered her performances.
After 2005, she stopped acting for a while. She wanted to focus more on her singing career.
2004: First Album Success
Hồ Ngọc Hà went to Hanoi to work on her first album with musician Huy Tuan. Her debut album, 24 Giờ 7 Ngày (24 Hours 7 Days), came out in 2004. Famous songwriters helped create the songs. The title song, "24 Giờ 7 Ngày," became a big hit.
Even though she was a model, she worked hard to make her mark in music. This album helped her build a strong base for her singing career.
2005: Và Em Đã Yêu and Return to Acting
She signed a deal with Duc Tri's Music Faces Records. Together, they made her second album, Và Em Đã Yêu (And I'm In Love). It was released in June 2005. The album showed off Hồ Ngọc Hà's strong image. Songs like "Đêm Nghe Tiếng Mưa" (Listening to Night Rain) and "Và Em Đã Yêu" made her even more famous.
After this album, she returned to acting. She starred in the TV drama 39 Độ Yêu (39 Degree of Love). She also joined the movie Chiến Dịch Trái Tim Bên Phải (Right Heart Campaign) in June 2005. This movie received good reviews, and people praised her acting. After this, she focused mainly on singing.
2006: New Albums and Collaborations
Before her US tour, Hồ Ngọc Hà worked on her third album, Muốn Nói Với Anh (I Wanna Tell You). It was released in December 2006. She even wrote one of the main songs herself. Hit songs from this album included "Muốn Nói Với Anh" and "Giấc Mơ Chỉ Là Giấc Mơ" (Dream Is Only Dream).
Around the same time, she released an album called Ảo Ảnh (Illusion) with Duc Tuan. This album featured classic songs by famous musicians.
2007-2009: New Music and Big Tour
In 2007, she released Khi Ta Yêu Nhau (When We're In Love). This album was not as widely promoted.
In 2009, she returned with The First Single album. This album was produced by new, young musicians. It sold many copies and got great reviews. The song "Xin Hãy Thứ Tha" (My Apology), featuring rapper Suboi, became one of her most famous songs. She even sang the English version, "My Apology," at the Asia Song Festival in Korea.
She became a brand ambassador for Sunsilk Vietnam. To promote Sunsilk and her album, she went on the Và Em Đã Yêu Tour across Vietnam in late 2009. Many other artists joined her on this tour.
2010-2011: Motherhood and Invincible
After becoming a mother, Hồ Ngọc Hà released her album Tìm Lại Giấc Mơ (Finding Dreams) in 2010. She recorded it while pregnant. This album featured songs by many different songwriters. She even wrote one song herself, "Thêm Một Lần Vỡ Tan" (One More Break Up).
In 2011, she released two popular singles: "Sao Ta Lặng Im" (Why We Keep Silence) and "Nỗi Nhớ Đầy Vơi" (Nonstop Missing) with Noo Phuoc Thinh. These songs did very well on music charts. Later, she released her sixth album, Invincible - Sẽ Mãi Bên Nhau (Forever Together). The main song, "Invincible," had a music video filmed in Hollywood, USA. It was her most expensive music video at the time.
She held a big live concert in December 2011 in Ho Chi Minh City. This was a major event in her career, costing a lot of money to produce. She performed 25 songs, impressing the audience.
2012: Coaching on The Voice
In 2012, Hồ Ngọc Hà and V.Music band released a new project called I Love You. It was a collection of eight love songs.
Vietnam became the second country to air The Voice after Korea. Hồ Ngọc Hà was one of the judges, alongside Dam Vinh Hung, Thu Minh, and Tran Lap. She worked hard for this role, even having a small vocal cord surgery.
She also won the Favorite Female Singer award at the HTV Awards in 2012. She was also a judge for Centaur Dance Showdown, an international dance competition.
In September 2012, while on The Voice, she released a new single, Đắn Đo (Wondering). It included two songs and an English version of "Mãi Mãi Về Sau" called "Runaway." She wanted this single to show a simpler, deeper side of her music.
2013: Judging Got To Dance
In 2013, Hồ Ngọc Hà was a judge on Got To Dance. She judged alongside famous dancers like Alfredo Torres and Dumbo. She also continued to be the face of many brands, including Samsung.
In August 2013, she performed two songs, "Runaway" and "Hãy Thứ Tha Cho Em" (Please Forgive Me), at the Asian Music Stars Show in China. Later that month, she released "Hãy Thứ Tha Cho Em" and "Giấu Anh Vào Nỗi Nhớ" (Keep You In My Thought). She made three different music videos for "Hãy Thứ Tha Cho Em," which was very unusual in Vietnam at the time. This song won "Single of the Year" at the 16th Green Waves Award.
2014: X Factor and Big Concert
In May 2014, she released the album Mối Tình Xưa (Old Love). This album had a classic, old-fashioned feel. She said the 11 songs told a story about her 10 years in music, including her career, love, and challenges.
She also became a judge on the first season of X Factor in Vietnam. She was a very popular judge and helped Giang Hong Ngoc win the competition. She also released the music video for her song "My Baby."
On November 20, 2014, she held her Live Concert at Gem Center in Saigon. This concert was a musical play, linking eight of her hit songs into a 40-minute story. She even invited famous American choreographer John-Paul "JP" San Pedro to work on the show. This concert was a big moment, marking 10 years in her singing career.
2015-2016: Love Songs and The Face Vietnam
In 2015, Hồ Ngọc Hà made a small appearance in the movie Hy Sinh Đời Trai. This was her first acting role in a long time.
In April 2016, she became one of three coaches on The Face Vietnam. Her team member, Phi Phuong Anh, won the first season.
After releasing singles like "Destiny" and "What Is Love?", she held her Love Songs concert in May 2016 in Ho Chi Minh City. This concert was very successful. She later took the Love Songs concert to other cities in Vietnam, America, and Europe.

Her dance performances, like the one at the Asia Song Festival in 2009, are often praised. She won "Singer of The Year" at the Zing Music Award in 2012.
Image and Fashion
Hồ Ngọc Hà is seen as a fashion icon. She is often called the "Queen of Advertisement" because many brands choose her to represent them. YanTV Channel also had her as their ambassador.

In 2011, she and other singers participated in a show called Tổ Ấm Ngày Xuân. At this event, she gave gifts and lucky money to orphans and children in difficult situations in Ho Chi Minh City.
