Hadi Norouzi (Persian: هادی نوروزی) was an Iranian football player. He was born on June 22, 1985, and sadly passed away on October 1, 2015. He played as a striker or winger. His last team was Persepolis in the Persian Gulf Pro League.
Hadi joined the Persepolis youth team in 2000. He moved up to the main team in 2008. Before that, he played for Pasargad and Damash Iranian for a short time. In 2013, he played for Naft Tehran on a six-month loan. After that, he returned to Persepolis and became a regular player.
Hadi Norouzi died suddenly in his sleep at age 30. At the time, he was the captain of Persepolis. He had been named captain just two months before.

His Journey in Football
Early Days and First Clubs
Hadi Norouzi started his football journey with Persepolis in the summer of 2000. He played for their Under-19 team for four seasons. After that, he moved to Pasargad.
Later, he came back to Persepolis U21 after serving his time in the military with Fajr Sepah Tehran. He then joined the senior team of Damash Iranian in Division 1.
Playing for Persepolis
The next year, Hadi returned to Persepolis. In the 2008–09 season, he often came on as a substitute. He became a key player for Persepolis. In the 2010–11 season, he was the top player for assists.
In the summer of 2013, he signed a new two-year contract with Persepolis. This meant he would stay with the team until 2015.
Loan to Naft Tehran
On November 26, 2013, Hadi joined Naft Tehran on a loan for one season. He played 12 games for Naft and scored three goals during his time there.
Becoming Captain
Hadi Norouzi came back to Persepolis before the 2014–15 season began. He had spent six months playing for Naft Tehran. Before the 2015–16 season, he was chosen as the club's captain. This happened after the previous captain, Mohammad Nouri, left the team.
Playing for His Country
Hadi Norouzi also played for the Iranian national football team. He started his international career in August 2009. His first game was against Bosnia and Herzegovina. He played in nine international matches for his country.
Remembering Hadi Norouzi
On the morning of October 1, 2015, sad news came out. Hadi Norouzi, the captain of Persepolis, had passed away in his sleep. He died from a heart attack. Doctors tried to save him on the way to the hospital, but it was too late. Hadi was only 30 years old.
The manager of Persepolis, Branko Ivanković, said the news was a big shock. Many famous football players and coaches shared their sadness. Other football clubs in Iran also sent their condolences. Players from the Iran national football team held a minute of silence for Hadi. Many fans went to Persepolis' training ground, Derafshifar Stadium, to leave flowers and light candles. Hadi had trained there just the day before.
A memorial service was held at Azadi Stadium on October 2. About 20,000 people attended, including fans of rival team Esteghlal. Hadi's body was then taken to his hometown, Babol. His funeral was held the next day, and he was buried in his village, Kapur Chal.
After his death, Hadi's former teammate Karim Ansarifard honored him. He dedicated a goal to Hadi by holding up a shirt with Hadi's name and number 24. The Iran national under-23 football team also dedicated their win to Hadi Norouzi.
In Persepolis' first game after Hadi's passing, fans cheered for him in the 24th minute. They also made a large picture at the stadium that showed his name and number, "Hadi 24". Both Persepolis and his hometown club Khoneh Be Khoneh retired the number 24 jersey in his honor. A city square in his hometown of Babol was also renamed Hadi Norouzi square.
His Family Life
Hadi Norouzi was the youngest of five children. He had four older brothers. In 2003, he married Masoumeh Ebrahimpour. They had two children together. Their son, Hani, was born in 2009, and their daughter, Hana, was born in 2014.
