Hadi Saei (Persian: هادی ساعی, born June 10, 1976) is a famous Iranian athlete and former taekwondo champion. He is known for being one of Iran's most successful Olympic athletes. Hadi Saei has won many important titles in taekwondo, including two Olympic gold medals.
Besides his sports career, he also served as a member of the City Council of Tehran. He was first elected in 2006 and re-elected in 2013, showing his commitment to public service.

Hadi Saei's Amazing Taekwondo Journey
Hadi Saei started practicing Taekwondo when he was just six years old. Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that uses lots of kicks and punches. His dedication from a young age helped him become a world-class athlete.
Becoming a World Champion
Hadi Saei competed in the Lightweight category (67–72 kg) for much of his career. He became a World Champion in 1999 and won another World Championship gold medal in 2005. He also earned a silver medal in the 2003 World Championships.
Helping Others: A True Champion
In 2003, a terrible earthquake hit the Iranian city of Bam. Many people lost their homes and belongings. Hadi Saei showed his kind heart by auctioning off his medals to raise money for the victims. This act of generosity proved he was a champion not just in sports, but in life too.
Olympic Glory and Challenges
Hadi Saei competed in three Olympic Games. At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, he won a bronze medal. This was just the beginning of his Olympic success.
At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Hadi Saei faced a big challenge. He fractured his right hand during his very first match. Even with a lot of pain, he kept fighting. He didn't show his injury until he won the final match against Mauro Sarmiento from Italy. Right after winning the gold medal, his hand was put in a plaster cast. His amazing determination helped Iran achieve a great result at those Olympics.
Hadi Saei officially retired from Taekwondo on November 8, 2008, after a brilliant career.
