The Asian Taekwondo Championships are a big sports event. The best Taekwondo athletes from different countries in Asia compete here. Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that uses lots of kicks and punches. These championships happen every two years. The first one was held in Seoul, South Korea in 1973. The Asian Taekwondo Union organizes this exciting competition. This union is part of World Taekwondo, which is the main group for Olympic-style Taekwondo around the world.
