Haftbefehl, whose real name is Aykut Anhan, was born in Offenbach am Main, West Germany, on December 16, 1985. He grew up in a family where Turkish was spoken. His mother was from Turkey, and his father was of Zaza-Kurdish heritage from eastern Turkey.
Early Life and Music Beginnings
Aykut left school when he was 14 years old. He later moved to different places like Istanbul and the Netherlands, living in cities such as Amsterdam and Arnhem. During this time, he started writing his first song lyrics. After returning to his hometown of Offenbach, he worked as a vehicle mechanic for a short time. He then began running a betting shop.
His journey into music truly began when he started recording his first songs. Samson Jones, who owned the record label Echte Musik, was impressed by Haftbefehl's talent and offered him a contract. Haftbefehl contributed to several music collections. He also gained attention by appearing on songs with other well-known rappers like Kollegah and Manuellsen.
Rise to Fame
On October 29, 2010, Haftbefehl released his first album, titled Azzlack Stereotyp. This album was quite successful, reaching number 59 on Germany's Top 100 music chart by November 15, 2010. After the label Echte Musik closed, Haftbefehl decided to create his own record label, which he named Azzlacks.
In the spring of 2012, Haftbefehl released his second album, Kanackiş. This album featured songs with other famous German musicians, including Jan Delay and Sido. Around the same time, a special mixtape called The Notorious H.A.F.T. was released by splash! magazine.
Haftbefehl achieved a significant milestone with his single Chabos wissen wer der Babo ist. This song was his first to enter the official German single charts, showing his growing popularity.
Personal Life
Haftbefehl got married in 2016. He and his wife currently have two children. His younger brother is also a rapper, known by his stage name Capo.
