What Happened at Halloway?
The Journey West
A man named Mr. Halloway was leading the small group. His group had only a few wagons. There were nine other people with him, including his family. They were traveling across the country, hoping to reach California.
Another group of wagons was following behind them. However, they were too far away to help. This meant Mr. Halloway's group was on their own when trouble started.

Sadly, six people from Mr. Halloway's group lost their lives. Three other people were also hurt during the attack. This event became known as the Halloway Massacre.
