Hallstahammar Municipality (which in Swedish is Hallstahammars kommun) is a special type of local area called a municipality. It is located in Västmanland County in central Sweden. The main town where the local government is based is Hallstahammar.
This municipality was created in 1971. It brought together the old town of Hallstahammar with parts of a rural area called Kolbäck. The local government's motto is "Bo hos oss" which means "Live with us." This shows they want more people to move to the area.
