Hamburg is a city in Arkansas, United States. It is also the county seat of Ashley County. In 2020, about 2,530 people lived there.
Hamburg is known as the hometown of Scottie Pippen, a famous NBA basketball player. The city's crest shows a gazebo, trees, cotton, and an antelope.
Geography

Culture
Hamburg hosts the Armadillo Festival every year. This fun event takes place on the first weekend of May and has been a tradition since 1970.
An important historical event happened in Hamburg in 1855. A local enslaved woman named Abby Guy went to court to gain her freedom. After several trials, she was eventually set free. This was a significant moment in the fight for individual rights.
Education
Students in Hamburg attend public schools run by the Hamburg School District. This is one of two public school districts in Ashley County.
Hamburg High School has received national recognition. In 2012, it was named a Silver Medalist by U.S. News & World Report. It was ranked among the best high schools in the country and in Arkansas.
Notable people
Many interesting people have connections to Hamburg:
- Harry Kane (born Harry Cohen), a baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball
