The Village of Hammond is found near the center of the Town of Hammond. It is located in the western part of St. Lawrence County.

History of Hammond Village

The land where Hammond village now stands was originally owned by a person named Abijah Hammond. The village was named after him.

Before it was officially called Hammond, the area was known as "Hammond Corners." This name likely came from its location at a crossroads.
