Hanan Tork (Arabic: حنان ترك) was born on March 7, 1975. She is a retired Egyptian actress and ballerina. Her full birth name is Hanan Hasan Abdelkrim Tork. She has two brothers. Her father owned a factory that made clothes.
Besides acting, Hanan is a global spokesperson for an international charity. She started her career as a ballerina. She finished her studies at the Cairo Ballet Institute in 1993. After that, she joined the Cairo Ballet Group. Later, she moved to the Classical Ballet Group.

Her Acting Journey
Hanan Tork started acting when the famous director Khairy Beshara noticed her. He gave her a role in the 1991 movie "Raghbah Motawaheshah." She acted alongside Nadia Al-Gindi in this film.
Early Roles
After her first movie, Hanan wanted to act more. She got a role in the TV series “El Awda El Akheera.” Here, she acted with Salah Zulfikar. Her next role was in "Be’r Sabe’ " with director Nur Eldemerdash. She also appeared in TV shows like El Sabr F El Mallahat and El Mal W El Banun. In 1993, she acted in the movie "Dehk We Le’b We Gadd W Hobb."
Working with Youssef Chahine
Hanan got a big chance when director Youssef Chahine chose her for his movie El Mohager in 1994. This helped her become more well-known.
In 1997, she acted with singer Mohamed Fouad in Ismailia Rayeh Gai. That same year, she worked with Chahine again in his movie Al Masir. In 1999, she had main roles in Al Akhar and Fata Men Israel. She also worked with Chahine again in the popular movie Al Assefa.
Later Success
In 2000, Hanan starred in the Ramadan TV series Opera Aida. The next year, she found more success. She acted with famous actress Samira Ahmed in "Amira Men Abdeen." She also played the main female role in the comedy movie Ga'na Al Bayan Al Taly, with Mohamed Henedi.
In 2001, Hanan was in the comedy movie Gawaz Be Karar Gomhourey. Her big hits came with Haramiyya Fi KG2 in 2002 and Haramiyyah fi Tayland in 2003. In 2007, she was nominated for an award at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards for her role in the film "Kas w lask."
The Movie "Dunia"
In 2005, the movie "Dunia" was released. It was directed by Lebanese director Jocelyne Saab. Hanan played the main character, Dunia, who was a belly dancer and poet. The movie showed many scenes in Cairo's poorer areas.
Personal Life and Decisions
In 2006, Hanan decided to start wearing a religious headscarf. She spoke openly about this choice. Other actresses, like Hala Shiha, also made this decision. Even with the headscarf, she continued acting for a while.
Hanan Tork was married to businessman Khaled Khatab. They divorced in 2007. In August 2012, she decided to stop acting to focus on her family.
In 2012, she married Mahmud Malek. He is the brother of a Muslim Brotherhood activist leader, Hasan Malek. Even though she had stopped acting, some of Malek's family were against their marriage. Hanan Tork has three children from her first marriage and two from her second. Her husband owns a men's fashion store in Cairo.
Retirement from Acting
Hanan Tork stopped acting during the Ramadan season in 2012. Since then, she has only lent her voice to Egyptian Cartoon movies and series.
