Hannibal is a small village located in Oswego County, New York, in the United States. In 2020, about 535 people lived there. The village is named after Hannibal, a famous leader from ancient Carthage. You can find Hannibal in the western part of the larger town of Hannibal. It is located along New York State routes 3 and 104, and Oswego County Route 34.

A Look Back: Hannibal's History

The first people settled in this area around 1808. They built a log structure where an old Native American camp used to be. The village officially became a village in 1860. At that time, about 416 people lived there. By 1895, the population had grown slightly to 450 residents.
