Hans Rebane was a very educated person. He first studied medicine at the University of Tartu in Estonia. Later, he traveled to Berlin to study economics. This mix of studies likely helped him in his later roles in politics and diplomacy.

A Career in Politics and Diplomacy

Hans Rebane had a significant career in public service. From 1927 to 1928, he served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia. This means he was in charge of how Estonia talked and worked with other countries. He was part of the government led by Jaan Tõnisson.

After his time as Minister, Rebane became an envoy. An envoy is like a special representative sent to another country to handle diplomatic matters. He served as Estonia's envoy in Helsinki, Finland, from 1931 to 1937. Later, he was the envoy in Riga, Latvia, from 1937 to 1940. Hans Rebane lived a long life dedicated to his country. He passed away in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1961.
