Her Music Career
Starting Out (2009-2016)
Happy Asmara began her career very young, around 8 to 10 years old in 2009. She was chosen to be a model for a children's magazine in East Java. As she grew older, her singing talent became clear. She practiced her singing skills a lot during junior high school.
Happy started performing on many stages. She sang at local festivals and weddings. She even performed as a sinden (a traditional Javanese singer) in wayang kulit shows.
In 2013, Happy Asmara signed a contract with a local music company. A few years later, she joined several Dangdut music groups in East Java. Her first song, "Sayang 4", was released on January 1, 2014. At the same time, Happy also sang for a local indie band in Kediri. She even performed as a rock singer with a punk fashion style.
Audition for D'Academy (2016-2017)
In 2016, while still in high school, Happy Asmara auditioned for D'Academy. This is a popular TV show where people compete to be the best dangdut singer. The audition was held in Surabaya. Famous singers like Nassar Sungkar, Dewi Persik, and Iis Dahlia were the judges.
Happy sang parts of the song "Sayang" during her audition. She impressed the judges and received a special "golden ticket" from Dewi Persik. This meant she could go to the next round in Jakarta. However, Happy did not answer the call from the show's organizers. She was worried it might be a scam. Because of this, she was considered to have left the competition.
