Harry "Doc" Kloor is an American scientist, film producer, director, and writer. He is famous for being the first person to earn two PhDs at the same time in two different subjects. A PhD, or Doctorate of Philosophy, is one of the highest degrees a person can get from a university.

In 1994, Kloor earned a PhD in Physics and a PhD in Chemistry from Purdue University. Because of this amazing achievement, he was named the ABC Person of the Week. Besides his work in science, he also creates movies and television shows.

A Career in Science and Technology

Harry Kloor has used his science knowledge to lead and advise many exciting companies and projects. He is the CEO of two companies, Beyond Imagination and Jupiter 9 Productions.

Working with Top Organizations

Kloor has been a part of several groundbreaking groups. He was one of the co-founders of the Rocket Racing League, a company that planned to have races with rocket-powered airplanes. He was also on the founding teams for the Ansari X Prize, a famous competition for private spaceflight, and Singularity University, a school that focuses on using technology to solve big world problems.

He has also worked as a science advisor for important groups, including:

  • The X Prize Foundation, where he advised on science and technology.
  • NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration)
  • The Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which builds robotic spacecraft for NASA.
  • The U.S. Senate, helping leaders understand technology issues.

In 2011, he helped lead a project for DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) called the 100 Year Starship. This project explored what it would take for humans to travel to other stars.
