What is Godzilla: The Series About?
The show follows a special research team called HEAT, which stands for Humanitarian Environmental Analysis Team. This team is led by Dr. Nick Tatopoulos (voiced by Ian Ziering). Their main job is to fight against giant mutant monsters that keep appearing after the events of the 1998 Godzilla movie.
Dr. Tatopoulos finds an egg that survived the bombing from the movie. When it hatches, the baby monster thinks Nick is its parent! This new Godzilla, the only one of its kind to survive, becomes the main protector against other dangerous mutations. Nick and his team investigate strange events and work to keep people safe. The series also introduces new characters like Monique Dupre, a French secret agent, and Randy Hernandez, a computer expert.
Who are the Main Characters?
The H.E.A.T. Team

- Godzilla (vocal effects by Frank Welker) – This is a giant mutated iguana monster. He is the only surviving child of the first Godzilla that attacked New York City in 1998. Because Nick was there when he hatched, Godzilla sees Nick as his parent and protects him fiercely. Nick can even control Godzilla a bit, which helps the team use him to fight other giant monsters. Unlike his parent, this Godzilla can breathe atomic fire!
- Dr. Niko "Nick" Tatopoulos (voiced by Ian Ziering) – He is the leader of the H.E.A.T. team and Godzilla's "adoptive father." Nick always tries to protect Godzilla and other mutations from governments that want to harm them.
- Dr. Elsie Chapman (voiced by Charity James) – Elsie is one of the first members of Nick's team. She is very smart and studies how Godzilla and other mutations behave.
- Dr. Mendel Craven (voiced by Malcolm Danare) – Mendel is the team's engineer and chemist. He can be a bit scared sometimes and has many allergies, but he is also very clever and finds solutions. He learns to trust Godzilla as a friend.
- Randy Hernandez (voiced by Rino Romano) – Randy is an intern working with Nick. He is also a big supporter of Godzilla, often calling him "the G-man" or "the big guy." Randy is great with technology but can be a bit lazy. He came up with the name H.E.A.T.!
- Monique Dupre (voiced by Brigitte Bako) – Monique is a French secret agent who is very skilled in fighting. She was first sent to kill Godzilla but later joined H.E.A.T. to watch over him. She seems serious but truly cares for her team and Godzilla.
- N.I.G.E.L. (voiced by Tom Kenny) – This is a robot created by Mendel. Randy reprogrammed him to have funny voices, like a cowboy or a Shakespearean actor. N.I.G.E.L. often gets damaged or destroyed in almost every episode, but he always gets rebuilt!
Other Important Characters
- Major Anthony Hicks (voiced by Kevin Dunn) – He is a military officer who helped fight the first Godzilla. At first, he doesn't trust the new Godzilla, but he eventually sees him as a hero.
- Audrey Timmonds (voiced by Paget Brewster) – Audrey is Nick's college friend and a reporter. Her job often causes problems between her and Nick.
- Victor "Animal" Palotti (voiced by Joe Pantoliano) – Animal is a cameraman who works with Audrey. He is always ready to help her film Godzilla and other monsters.
- Mayor Ebert (voiced by Michael Lerner) – He is the mayor of New York City. He is determined to keep the city safe from monster threats.
- Philippe Roache (voiced by Keith Szarabajka) – A high-ranking French agent. He led the hunt for the first Godzilla and later sent Monique to kill the second one, but changed his mind when Godzilla saved lives.
Who are the Villains?
- Cameron Winter (voiced by David Newsom) – He is a former classmate of Nick's and a very smart but sneaky technology boss. He wants to control Godzilla for his own bad plans.
- The Leviathan Aliens (voiced by Ron Perlman) – These are ancient aliens with mind-control powers. They crashed on Earth a long time ago and tried to take over the planet using mind-controlled monsters, including a robot version of the first Godzilla called Cyber-Godzilla.
- Alexandra Springer (voiced by Linda Blair) – She leads a group called S.C.A.L.E. (Servants of Creatures Arriving Late to Earth). They believe that mutant monsters are the next step in evolution and should be protected, even if they cause harm.
- Tobias Wilson (voiced by Dorian Harewood) – He is a circus ringmaster who runs a "mutant circus." He tries to capture Godzilla and other monsters for his show.
- Colonel William Tarrington (voiced by Michael Chiklis) – A soldier who creates mutant scorpions to use as weapons. He doesn't always see the danger of his creations.
- Dr. Hugh Trevor (voiced by Roddy McDowall) – A scientist who studies the Loch Ness Monster. He tries to capture Nessie's baby to sell it.
- Maximillian Speil (voiced by Clancy Brown) – A rich fight promoter who sets up secret monster fighting tournaments.
