Ronald N. Perlman (born April 13, 1950) is an American actor. He is famous for playing many different characters in movies and TV shows. Some of his well-known roles include Vincent in the TV series Beauty and the Beast, where he won a Golden Globe Award. He also played Hellboy in the movies Hellboy (2004) and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008).

Ron Perlman often works with director Guillermo del Toro. He has appeared in del Toro's films like Blade II, Pacific Rim, and Pinocchio. Besides acting on screen, Perlman is also a very busy voice actor. He has lent his voice to characters in video games like Fallout and animated shows such as Teen Titans and Adventure Time.

Ron Perlman started his TV career in 1979 on the soap opera Ryan's Hope. His first movie role was in Quest for Fire (1981). Later, he almost quit acting, but director Jean-Jacques Annaud asked him to be in The Name of the Rose (1986).

His big break came when he played Vincent in the TV series Beauty and the Beast. He starred alongside Linda Hamilton from 1987 to 1990. For this role, he won a Golden Globe Award in 1989.

Notable Film Appearances

Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Perlman appeared in many films. These included Alien Resurrection (1997) and Blade II (2002). He also starred in two movies based on Stephen King's books, Sleepwalkers and Desperation.

In 1995, he played his first main movie role as "One" in the French film The City of Lost Children. He became even more famous in 2004 when he played the main character, Hellboy, in the movie based on the comic book. They separated in May 2019. In 2022, Perlman married his StartUp co-star Allison Dunbar in Italy. His son Brandon is a musician who makes electronic music under the name Delroy Edwards.
