Haruchika (ハルチカ), also known as Haruta & Chika, is a Japanese mystery story series. It was created by Sei Hatsuno. Kadokawa Shoten has published five novels since October 2008.
A manga comic book version started in December 2015. An anime TV show called Haruchika: Haruta & Chika began on January 7, 2016. A live-action movie with the same name was released on March 4, 2017.

Story of Haruchika
Haruta and Chika are high school students. They are part of their school's wind instrument club. The club is very small, with only four members. It is almost going to close down.
Haruta and Chika were friends when they were little. They meet again after nine years. They spend their time studying and trying to find new members for their club. When strange things happen at their school, they work together. They try to solve these mysteries.

Chika is a first-year high school student. She used to be a tomboy. She wants to become more like a "girly girl." She joins the Brass Club to change her image. Chika plays the flute.
Haruta Kamijō

Haruta is also a first-year high school student. He is Chika's childhood friend. Chika often teases him. Haruta lives alone. He is very popular at school and outside. He is good at solving mysteries. Haruta plays the French horn.
Shinjirō Kusakabe

He is the school's music teacher. He is also the club supervisor. He was once a famous music conductor. He then became a music teacher. Chika and Haruta look up to him. Mr. Kusakabe is also a good detective. He often solves problems before Haruta. But he lets Haruta and Chika figure things out themselves.
Miyoko Narushima

Miyoko is a second-year student. She plays the oboe. She stopped playing for a year. This was after her younger brother passed away. Haruta helped her by solving a special Rubik's cube. He told her to move on from the past.
Maren Sei

Maren is a first-year student. He plays the alto saxophone. He was born in China. His parents gave him up for adoption. They wanted him to have a better life. He was in the drama club for a short time. He joined the brass band club after Haruta beat him in an acting challenge.
Akari Gotō

Akari is a lively girl. She leads the first-year members. She plays the bass trombone. She first met the brass club when they solved a mystery about her grandfather. She joins the club later when she starts high school.
Kaiyū Hiyama

Kaiyū is Naoko's childhood friend. He plays percussion. He took a year off from school. During that time, he was a radio announcer. He gave advice to listeners on a show.

Naoko is a first-year student. She plays the clarinet. She wanted to play music professionally. But she started losing her hearing. She lost hearing in her left ear. Print Stories
The Haruchika mystery novels are written by Sei Hatsuno. The first novel was published by Kadokawa Shoten on October 29, 2008. Five books have been published so far. They are also available in a smaller book format.
A manga comic book version is drawn by Būta. It started in Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in October 2015. The first manga book was released on December 26, 2015.

Anime TV Series
An anime TV show called Haruchika: Haruta & Chika (ハルチカ 〜ハルタとチカは青春する〜, Haruchika: Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru, lit. Haruta and Chika Enjoy Their Youth) was made by P.A.Works. It started on January 7, 2016. The show has a theme song called "Niji o Ametara" by Fhána. The ending song is "Kūsō Triangle" by ChouCho.
