High School Media Programs

Ridgewood High School has cool Multimedia Clubs. They say they are the only media group in both Norridge and Harwood Heights. They have four different stations!

  • The radio club creates "Jack FM 89.7 WRHS-FM Norridge."
  • They also produce "Theatre of the Ears on Smooth 88.1 WRWX-FM Harwood Heights/Jack Frost 88.1 WXMS Harwood Heights."
  • The television department runs an in-house station called "WRWX Television 4."
  • The television club also runs "WRHS Television 19."

A Special Golf Tournament

In 1942, the U.S. Open Golf Tournament was canceled because of World War II. Instead, a special tournament called The Hale America National Open Golf Tournament was held. Famous golfer Ben Hogan won this tournament. It raised over $20,000 to help the Navy Relief Society and the U.S.O.. These groups supported soldiers and their families during the war.
