Head Lake: A Cool Spot in Ontario

Head Lake is an important part of the Great Lakes Basin. This means that the water from Head Lake eventually makes its way to the Great Lakes. It's like a giant network of lakes and rivers!

How Water Flows Through Head Lake

The main river that flows into and out of Head Lake is called the Drag River. The Drag River enters Head Lake from the east, coming from Drag Lake. It then leaves Head Lake from the southwest, flowing into Grass Lake.

The journey of the water doesn't stop there! From Grass Lake, the Drag River continues its path. It flows into the Burnt River, which then joins the Trent River. Finally, all this water reaches Lake Ontario, one of the five Great Lakes.

Getting to Head Lake

If you're visiting Head Lake, you'll find that Ontario Highway 118 runs along its western shore. This makes it easy to access and enjoy the views of the lake.
