Heath is a city in Texas, United States. It is located in both Rockwall and Kaufman counties. Heath is part of the larger Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, which is a big urban area in Texas. In 2020, about 9,769 people lived in Heath. This number has grown quite a bit over the years.

History of Heath
In 2008, people in Heath had a chance to vote on changing the city's name. The idea was to change "City of Heath" to "Village of Heath". However, most people voted against this change. The city kept its original name.
Where is Heath Located?
Heath is in the southwestern part of Rockwall County. A small piece of the city also reaches south into Kaufman County. The city covers a total area of about 12.25 square miles (31.73 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.
Heath is surrounded by other cities and a large lake. To the north, you'll find the city of Rockwall. To the south, it borders the city of Forney. On its western side, Heath is next to Lake Ray Hubbard, which is part of the city of Dallas. If you travel by road, Heath is about 25 miles east of downtown Dallas.
Population Growth in Heath
Heath has seen its population grow steadily over the years. In 1970, only 520 people lived here. By 2000, the population had grown to 4,149. The 2010 census counted 6,921 residents. By 2020, the population reached 9,769 people. This shows that more and more families are choosing to live in Heath.
Most people living in Heath are White (Non-Hispanic). There are also communities of Black or African American, Asian, Native American, and people of mixed races. About 8.5% of the population is Hispanic or Latino. In 2020, there were 3,109 households in the city.
