Heiner Mora's Club Journey
Heiner Mora started his football career with a team called Santos de Guápiles. He was a regular player there, always starting games as the right back.
In 2007, he moved to a rival team, Brujas. However, he didn't play much there. So, Heiner decided to move to CF Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR), where he started playing well again.
After a while, in 2009, he went back to Brujas and immediately became a key player for them. The next season, he returned to Santos de Guápiles. His great performance caught the eye of one of Costa Rica's top teams, Saprissa. They signed Heiner on a temporary deal (called a loan) in early 2011.
In 2012, Heiner Mora began playing for Hønefoss, a team in Norway. Playing in a new country was tough for him. He faced challenges like a different climate, learning a new language, and being far away from his family. Because of these difficulties, he decided to return to Costa Rica in May 2013.
In August 2013, Heiner signed a one-year contract with Belén to play in Costa Rica's top league, the Costa Rican Primera División. In the summer of 2014, he went back to play for Saprissa.
After playing for Pérez Zeledón, Heiner Mora joined C.D. Barrio México in July 2020. This team plays in the Segunda División de Costa Rica, which is Costa Rica's second-tier football league.
Playing for His Country: Costa Rica
Heiner Mora has been a part of the Costa Rica national team since 2010. He played in all three matches for Costa Rica in the 2011 Copa América, which is a big tournament for South American teams. He also played in the 2011 Gold Cup, a major tournament for teams in North and Central America and the Caribbean.
Sadly, Heiner missed the 2014 FIFA World Cup because of an injury. Another player, David Myrie, took his place in the team.
