Heiner Mora Mora, born on June 20, 1984, is a former professional footballer from Costa Rica. He was known for playing as a wingback, which is a type of defender who also helps with attacking.

Heiner Mora's Club Career
Heiner Mora started his football journey with Santos de Guápiles. He quickly became a regular player, usually playing as a right-back. In 2007, he moved to a rival team, Brujas.
Early Career and Return to Form
After not playing much at Brujas, Mora joined CF Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR). There, he started playing very well again, showing off his skills. In 2009, he went back to Brujas and immediately became a key player for the team.
Moving to Top Teams
The next season, Mora rejoined Santos de Guápiles. His excellent performance caught the eye of Saprissa, one of Costa Rica's top football clubs. Saprissa signed Mora on a loan in early 2011.
In 2012, Mora moved to Norway to play for the team Hønefoss. However, he faced some challenges there. The climate was difficult, and he had trouble with the language. He also found the rules for people moving to Norway to be very strict. Being away from his family was also hard for him. Because of these issues, he decided to return to Costa Rica in May 2013. He even considered retiring from professional football at that time.
Later Career in Costa Rica
In August 2013, Mora signed a one-year contract with Belén. He played for them in the Costa Rican Primera División, which is the top football league in Costa Rica. In the summer of 2014, he made a big return to Saprissa. He played for Saprissa for several years.
After his time at Saprissa, Mora played for Pérez Zeledón. In July 2020, he joined C.D. Barrio México, a club in the Segunda División de Costa Rica, which is Costa Rica's second-tier league.
Heiner Mora's International Career
Heiner Mora also played for the Costa Rica national team starting in 2010. He represented his country in important tournaments.
Major Tournaments
Mora played in all three matches for Costa Rica in the 2011 Copa América. He also participated in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup. These are major international football competitions where countries compete against each other.
World Cup Challenge
Unfortunately, Mora missed the 2014 FIFA World Cup due to an injury. Another player, David Myrie, took his place in the squad for that tournament.

Heiner Mora's Personal Life
Heiner Mora was born and grew up in Guácimo, Costa Rica. His parents are Dagoberto Mora and Luz Marina Mora. His father had a papaya farm in Guácimo.
