Helen wrote her very first novel, called The Icarus Girl, while she was still in high school. She was studying for her A-levels at Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School at the time. After high school, she went to Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, a famous university. Since 2013, Helen has made her home in Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic.

Her Amazing Writing Career

While Helen was at college, she also wrote plays. Two of her plays, Juniper's Whitening and Victimese, were performed by other students. Later, a company called Methuen published them in 2014.

It also won a Somerset Maugham Award in 2010, which is a prize for young British writers. In 2009, a magazine called Venus Zine listed Helen as one of the "25 under 25" talented young women.
