Helenville has had a post office since 1851. The community got its name from a woman named Helen. She was the wife of the person who first owned the land where the town was built. People thought she was very charming.

Helenville Supernationals Event
The Helenville Fire Department hosts a big event called the Helenville Supernationals Truck and Tractor Pulls. This event has been happening for over 13 years. It takes place at the Helenville Fireman's Park on Depot Road.
At the Supernationals, different types of trucks and tractors compete. They try to pull heavy weights as far as they can. There are many different groups, like gas and diesel trucks, and various kinds of tractors. All the money raised from this event helps the Helenville Fire Department.
