Hell's Glen is a beautiful valley, called a 'glen,' located in Scotland. It's found on the Cowal Peninsula, nestled between two mountains, Cruach nam Mult and Stob an Eas. This glen connects to Loch Fyne in the west and the tall mountain Ben Donich in the east. It's also part of the larger Argyll Forest Park, which is inside the famous Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.

The name 'Hell's Glen' might sound a bit scary, but it comes from the Gaelic language. Its original Gaelic name is Glen Iarainn, which actually means "the Iron Glen". However, it sounds very similar to another Gaelic phrase, Glen Ifhrinn, which means "the Glen of Hell". So, the name stuck! The glen is also sometimes called Scottish Gaelic: An Gleann Beag, which means "the small glen".

Moses' Well

On the southwest side of Hell's Glen, you can find a pile of rocks. In the 1800s, a local minister created a spring here by making water flow from one of the rocks. He named it "Moses' Well."

This name comes from a story in the Bible, where Moses made water come from a rock to help his people. The well in Hell's Glen became a popular stop for coaching horses to drink water during their long journeys.
