One of her famous books was Children's Stories in American Literature: 1660-1860. This book introduced young readers to the lives and works of important American authors. Some of these authors included Edgar Allan Poe, William Bryant, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and Oliver Wendell Holmes. This book was first published in 1861 and was often used in schools to help young students learn about literature.
