His Incredible Bravery

On 25 September 1915, a very important event happened. It was near a place called Loos in France. Private Kenny showed amazing courage that day. He went out six times into heavy enemy fire. This included shells, rifle shots, and machine-gun fire.

Each time, he rescued a wounded soldier. These soldiers were lying out in the open, in great danger. He carried each man to a safe place. As he helped the last soldier over a wall, he was wounded himself. His actions saved many lives.

What Happened Next?

After the war, Henry Kenny continued to serve his country. He rose to the rank of Sergeant. He also served in the Home Guard later in his life. Henry Kenny lived to be 90 years old. He died on 6 May 1979.
