Hergy Mayala (born October 21, 1995) is a Canadian professional football player. He plays as a wide receiver for the Edmonton Elks in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Playing College Football
Hergy Mayala played college football at the University of Connecticut. He was a key player in his junior and senior years. He started in all regular season games during those years.
Throughout his college career, he caught the ball 113 times. He gained a total of 1,352 yards and scored 12 touchdowns. His 113 catches rank him sixth all-time at Connecticut. This record started when Connecticut moved to the top division of college football.
Professional Football Career
Joining the Calgary Stampeders
The Calgary Stampeders picked Hergy Mayala in the 2019 CFL Draft. He was the eighth player chosen overall in the first round. He played his first professional game on June 15, 2019. This game was against the Ottawa Redblacks.
Mayala scored his first professional touchdown on October 11, 2019. It was an eight-yard catch from quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell. In 2019, he played in 16 regular season games. He caught 38 passes for 562 yards and scored five touchdowns.
He did not play in 2020 because the 2020 CFL season was cancelled. In 2021, he played in 13 out of 14 regular season games. He made 29 catches for 284 yards, but did not score any touchdowns. His contract ended on February 8, 2022, and he became a free agent. This means he could sign with any team.
Playing for the Montreal Alouettes (First Time)
On February 8, 2022, Mayala signed with his hometown team. He joined the Montreal Alouettes. His contract with them ended on February 14, 2023. He then became a free agent again.
Time with the New Orleans Breakers
On February 15, 2023, Mayala signed with the New Orleans Breakers. This team is part of the United States Football League (USFL). He was moved to the team's inactive list on March 19, 2023. This means he was not playing in games.
He was then put back on the active list on March 26. However, he was released by the team on April 10.
Back with the Montreal Alouettes (Second Time)

On October 6, 2023, it was announced that Mayala had signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Hergy Mayala joined the Edmonton Elks on April 9, 2024. He signed with them as a free agent.
